Canada Legalises personal cannabis use

On Wednesday 17 of October Canada became the second and largest country to legalise cannabis for personal use after Uruguay in 2013. The law change means that adults can now carry 30 grams and grow 4 plants at home. This is a much broader adoption of legalisation than seen in the US where it is legal in many states but under federal law it remains illegal. US DEA approves CBD medicine.

A medicine approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in April has been rescheduled by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) allowing it to be prescribed in the US to help treat severe forms of childhood epilepsy. The drug, Epidiolex, is manufactured by GW Pharmaceuticals and is the first cannabis based drug to be approved by the FDA. Coke looking into CBD infused drinks.

Coca Cola recently announced that they have been in talks with the Canadian cannabis producer Aurora Cannabis to develop drinks containing CBD.
